Getting Volunteers in Montgomery County
As far as Montgomery County is concerned, the goal of Friends of Sligo Creek is to work to restore the water quality, natural habitat and ecology of Sligo Creek and its watershed.
The sooner we list our events with the county, the better. They have "feature spots" for their weekend/one-time events and the calendar.
If a steward wishes to post a one-time event, a copy of the flier that has been made for the event MUST also be included with the application.
The contact person (probably the steward) should list their contact info on the sheet, since they are the one doing that event. All stewards are able to sign for the Student Learning Service hours-- but stewards can't sign for their own kids, someone else has to.
