Sligo Night Herons

June 25. The three biggest chicks flew to the parents fairly quickly but the last two were hard to convince. I don't think they had flown before. The parents called more and more urgently. They were clearly trying to coax them out. This chick flew to a nearby branch and wouldn't go any farther. After several false starts it finally flew to its parents, up through the trees and back. When they started calling again the last chick came right away. I believe it didn't want to be left there by itself. Then they all flew off through the trees. It was very exciting to see this.
