Analysis
- Sligo Creek looked polluted because it had virtually no animals. We only found a blackfly larvae and two lunged snails in Sligo and a bunch of macroinvertebrates in Sleepy Creek.
- This couldn't have happened by chance because we checked 3 times in both creeks. And it couldn't have happened because it was winter since we checked both creeks one week apart. So I believe that the experiment shows that Sligo is polluted.
- The most likely cause of the pollution is nutrient pollution which is caused by too much nitrogen and phosphorus. Other possibilities include sediment pollution, air pollution, and chemical pollution.
- I could have done the experiment better by testing other qualities of the water like nitrogen, phosphorus, pH, and bacteria to discover the cause of the pollution.
