We are a nonprofit community organization, dedicated to protecting and improving the ecological health of Sligo Creek Park and its surrounding watershed, as well as engaging the local community to better appreciate and enjoy the wonderful Sligo Creek Park system.

We are essentially a volunteer-led organization, spending thousands of hours each year to help develop programming and host events in or near the Park. Many of those hours come from people just like you, members of our community, while many of those hours come from the people serving on the FOSC board, committees, and section stewards.

However, even with all that free labor, there are many costs we incur. Fees for our knowledgeable speakers or experts that lead walks and workshops, venue rentals, printing of all those flyers we post on a regular basis in our nine kiosks located along the Sligo paved trails, equipment and supplies for our water quality committee, liability insurance, etc. Your generous contribution ensures that we can meet our commitment to the community to provide these services and plan for new ones, making everyone's involvement with the Sligo Creek Park system the best one possible.
