Heavy Rainstorm in Sligo Creek
Early morning, August 12, 2010

Photo and text by Carole Galati

All the pictures and videos were taken mid morning of Thursday, August 12, the day the skies turned black. I live on Melbourne Ave. which was a tributary into Sligo Creek in the early thirties. On August 12 it reverted from street back to tributary. As an avid gardener on Melbourne Ave. since 1971, a Master Garden and member of the Takoma Horticultural Club, I have always been devoted and concerned about "my section" of Sligo Creek, near Three Oaks Drive (between Wayne Ave and Colesville Rd.)
