Statement of Problem and Topic Idea

• Problem: To get 100% natural water we must stop the pollution in the bay. Every year the Chesapeake Bay gets more and more polluted but we do not know why. The problem might not be direct dumping into the bay but the tributaries that go into it are polluted thus giving the bay pollution.
  
• ldea: I will test two tributaries to see which we need to help the most. They are Sligo Creek and Sleepy Creek in West Virginia. To do it I will put a net in the water, kick dirt into a bucket, and see what animals were caught. Depending on the rarity of the animals I can tell how healthy the creek is. This method is called the benthic macroinvertebrate monitoring method.
